Research
The
Research Department will use research and writing to analyze the causes of
poverty and recommend innovative ways to effectively address it.
The overarching goal of the
Research Department is to concisely and articulately illuminate the challenges
faced and overcome by advocates on behalf of their clients living in poverty. Further, the department seeks to
produce blueprints for addressing poverty that have real life potential to be
successfully implemented.
Internal Reports and Requests
The
department will conduct its own research and produce reports that will be distributed
on the KYPLC website. The department will conduct research at the request of the Litigation and Community Education Departments. These reports will be distributed on the KYPLC website.
External Requests
The
department will conduct research at the request of other programs and produce
reports for use by those programs.

Kentucky Poverty Law Journal
The
department will produce the Kentucky
Poverty Law Journal, a quarterly journal that will publish academic
